Thanks for posting such a beautiful video. My parents grew up in Lanai City. I’m having a hard time holding back the tears because the video brings back so many memories. I remember the neighborhoods as clear as a sunny day. My grandparent’s house was a couple of blocks away from Tanigawa’s Restaurant. I currently live in New Mexico and this video is making me homesick.
I watched this twice and loved it – the pace, music, the rain scene, warm family and community life – all beautiful and peaceful. Keep on doing what you’re doing, keep it personal and down home.
thanks for your comments. i’m glad you appreciated the vid. the music is by a filipino R&B group “SOUTHBORDER” featuring their song “Ikaw Nga Lite” (Tagalog).
WOW! I am sooo jealous!!! My husband is a local boy from Kona and I promised him we’d move there in 7 years!! For now, were stuck in Southern California! YUCK>>> Just the same, this was one of the most beautiful videos I’ve ever seen. One question: WHO SINGS THIS SONG AND WHAT’S IT CALLED???? Thank You for your talent and kindness in making this video.
Beautiful video! Made me so homesick – grew up in a similar neighborhood in Oahu – just real local people – everybody feeding everybody else’s kids – picking flowers, climbing mango trees – May Day dances at school. Nice music, too.
